A Health Diplomacy Community

We're building a vibrant and diverse community of practice, linking over 100 Fellows with dozens of organizations and more than 30 academic institutions committed to improving health through diplomacy

Facilitated interactions between members of the community will include, for example: convening institutions who are running health diplomacy courses in their regions to share best practice; and running an annual conference on health diplomacy to share lessons from capacity building initiatives and insights from new research. The Health Diplomacy Initiative will also support an online platform for the community.

The purpose of the Health Diplomacy Institutional Network is to stimulate

  1. Academic Collaboration: Encouraging the sharing of academic resources, research findings, and teaching methodologies among member institutions; this could include developing joint courses, workshops, and seminars that address challenges in global health diplomacy.

  2. Research and Innovation: Stimulating collaborative research projects that contribute to advancing health diplomacy. The Network could support interdisciplinary studies that combine insights from public health and international relations as well as policy analysis.

  3. Professional Development: Providing platforms for faculty and student exchanges, internships, and mentorship programs. These initiatives would aim to cultivate the next generation of health diplomats equipped with the necessary skills and insights to influence global health policies.

  4. Policy Influence and Advocacy: Leveraging the collective expertise of the network to influence health policy at country, regional and global levels. The Network will strive to be a key contributor to policy dialogues and forums that actively shape global health agendas for country impact.

  5. Global Outreach and Engagement: Establishing connections with governmental and non-governmental organizations, health agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. This engagement will extend the reach of the Network's activities and amplify its impact on health outcomes.
