Dialogue and Research
We're committed to developing new research and creating global engagement opportunities around health diplomacy.
We will work with Fellows of the Executive program, and members of the Community to fill knowledge gaps in how diplomacy can contribute to improved health at the regional and global levels. More specifically, our work will review concepts, experiences and evidence, from the past and on-going global health processes to help sharpen strategies and priorities for future health diplomacy efforts.
Current Projects
Lancet Series on Diplomacy for Health
This forthcoming Lancet Series explores the evolving intersection of diplomacy, politics, and public health in the changing geopolitical world order.
Through interdisciplinary research co-led by institutions across the globe, including American University of Beirut, Georgetown University, London School of Economics, Institute for Global Health and Development in Guinea Bissau, National University of Singapore, Karolinska Institutet, and CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies), the Series aims to contribute to the practice, scholarship and education of health diplomacy.
The Series brings together diplomats, health professionals, academics and civil society representatives to explore outcomes of health diplomacy, refine frameworks and definitions in the field, and deepen the understanding of dynamics between national interests and global and regional responsibility in health. Drawing on these insights, the Series will also provide recommendations for the future of health diplomacy.
The Series comprises four papers, anticipated for publication by mid-2026. The target audience includes the community of practice of health diplomacy, defined as spanning both public and private sectors as well as civil society and academia.
